Phases of Wholeness

Human life moves in spirals, not straight lines. Each cycle of growth returns us to earlier wounds, inviting us to integrate them at a deeper level. The Phases of Becoming are not just about age; they are about the evolution of our soul through safety, love, power, expression, and wisdom. These phases map closely to the chakra system, but they also resonate with the elements—earth, water, fire, air, ether—that shape our experience of being human. Through the Prism Process, we begin to see these phases as opportunities for intertwined healing, where past and present dissolve into one continuous field of becoming.

From birth to age seven, the Root Chakra calls us into the element of Earth. Here, the wound of “I don’t belong” forms when safety and acceptance are absent. This disconnection manifests as fear or mistrust, creating shaky foundations for adulthood. In the Prism Process, healing here means grounding—learning to root into the body, reconnect with breath, and honor the Earth as our first mother. By stabilising this element, we awaken the capacity to trust ourselves and life itself.

From ages seven to fourteen, we enter the Sacral Chakra and the element of Water, where identity and emotion swirl. The wound becomes: “I earn love by pleasing others.” Shame and guilt stagnate this energy, and creativity feels unsafe. Intertwined healing requires softening into flow—rediscovering pleasure, imagination, and emotional honesty. Through the Prism Process, Water is awakened not as chaos but as current, teaching us to move with life rather than against it.

Between fourteen and twenty-one, the Solar Plexus Chakra ignites with the element of Fire. Here the story “I have no control” dominates, leaving one dependent on external validation and prone to power struggles. Fire, when unbalanced, consumes; but when tended, it empowers. The Prism Process teaches discernment—feeding the flames of purpose without burning out. By reclaiming Fire, we awaken boundaries, autonomy, and the courage to live authentically.

From twenty-one through midlife, we encounter the Heart, Throat, and Third Eye Chakras—corresponding to Air and Ether. Here, wounds of unworthiness, invisibility, and mistrust emerge, often expressed as burnout, anxiety, or loss of direction. These phases ask us to breathe spaciousness into the self and release the martyr’s burden. In the Prism Process, Air awakens compassion and truth, while Ether opens intuition and vision. Healing here is an intertwining: reclaiming voice, seeing with clarity, and expanding beyond narrow definitions of success.

Finally, from forty-two onward, the Crown Chakra draws us into Source, where all elements unite. Yet cultural conditioning often whispers: “I shouldn’t take up space.” This silences the wisdom of age, especially feminine wisdom. In the Prism Process, this phase becomes the great integration—Earth rooting, Water flowing, Fire empowering, Air breathing, Ether visioning. The Crown is not an ending but a flowering, a prism through which light passes, revealing the full spectrum of self. In this space, healing and awakening are no longer separate—they are the same act of becoming.
